Loved this experience! Food was phenomenal! Seeing France was great, but the absolute highlight and best part was being at the mill working with Chef Matthew and Alexander.

Chef Richard promised to exceed our expectations and he delivered. This trip/workshop was baking-focussed and we learned from the best: Chef Matthew James Duffy and Alexandre Laumain (winner of model du pain 2023 and MOF). The trip began with a walking tour of some of MJD's favourite bakeries in Paris and Chef Richard ensured that we got a wide variety of breads and Viennoiseries to sample. We had a private chateau, situated a few minutes from the wheat fields and flour mill. We had exclusive access to a professionally equipped test kitchen at a premier mill which we also toured (Foricher Moulin des Gaults). Lunches were prepared by Chef Richard and others. Dinners were outstanding and these included a sommelier at two and a cooking workshop for two dinners. There were some non-baking excursions though there was a reluctance to skip baking opportunities so the schedule was adjusted accordingly. I baked more each day than I ordinarily would in a year. And with expert feedback, my skills improved significantly. Food and wine offerings were outstanding and the camaraderie among the participants made this trip memorable and valuable.

This vacation exceeded our expectations, our culinary journey through Lima, Cusco, and the Sacred Valley was an unforgettable trip curated by Chef Richard Grucia. We thoroughly enjoyed all the special touches, such as the welcome dinner by the beach, Pisco Sour and ceviche class, and trips to the local markets just to name a few. Highlights also included participating in a traditional pachamanca earth oven feast and discovering tuber wine. The trip perfectly balanced these authentic culinary adventures with great restaurants and the magnificent Machu Picchu and enhanced by wonderful Chefs Richard and Ricky and an amazing group of fellow culinary travelers! This was more than a vacation; it was an authentic, once-in-a-lifetime experience that we highly recommend to anyone.

Trip was amazing due to the friends we were traveling with and the spectacular country we visited. Felt the descriptions of the tour overpromised and underdelivered, “hands on” experiences were actually demos, guest star chefs were AWOL, lots of last minute schedule changes, and some unexpected “nickel and diming” that was irksome. The level of care and attention to detail simply did not match up to the price point, and the trip as a whole felt under-researched by tour leadership. Based on basic calculations, the trip could have been organized independently for about half the cost, and with a richer result. Juice not worth the squeeze.

What a trip! Richard created an amazing itinerary that included something for everyone. His connections to local chefs, farmers, tour guides, etc made this an unforgettable trip. Accommodations were first class, beautiful hotels and very comfortable transportation along the way. We look forward to another trip with him!
